See It...or...Let It Die?

Coming up on Tuesday evening here in Des Moines the film To Die In Jerusalem will be screened at the reform temple and presented by the Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines.

For those of you who have not heard of this film it was produced by HBO and centers on the efforts of the mother of Rachel Levy who was murdered by a terrorist.  Both Rachel and the terrorist murderer were roughly the same age.

Over a span of four years the Jewish mother seeks to meet with the Arab mother.  From all accounts it is a gut wrenching film that, in the end, solves nothing but leaves so many questions.

We've not seen the film.  We have only read many reviews.  However, we intend to go and we'll offer our own thoughts on Wednesday.

The showing is open to the public and will follow some brief remarks regarding the latest terrorist activity, the murder of eight young men  that took place just last week in Jerusalem.

Marriv at Beth El Jacob will start at 7pm and we'll then go to the reform congregation for the movie.

Kosher Mexican Dinner - Beth El Jacob

Time once again for the Beth El Jacob International Dinner Series as we celebrate the kosher foods of Mexico.

(I was going to write China to see if you were paying attention...)

This Sunday evening we'll be gathering right after Marriv for a community wide celebration of Mexican food...Kosher of course!

Missy and others have been busy making plans and as a special treat we've got Mexican music...direct from Dan Hartzer and the Zarnow Fund!

So...give us a call at 515-274-1551 and make your reservations for a great evening of food, music and good times.  Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children under 12.  Oh...and kids under five...eat free!

One more thing: Is Tequila Kosher?  According to the cRc only "White" or "Silver" is and not dark.  Here's the list.
